Not sure about talk about scam regarding ApplianceZone.Com

Confused about the controversies written about Appliance Zone, I have bought four or five parts from Appliance Zone and rarely had a problem.

I unfailingly decide the least possible price haulage and on two occasions received my challenges the next day. They seem to be a good operation.

I noted that all the chat operators seem to have American names so I richly skepticism that they have their customer tribute sent oversees to India or Pakistan as so many added companies do.

I also see they have their own race car so I don’t see how this posse may be a scam as anybody previous mentioned.

I’ve seen many folks leave bad reviews about this appliance zone and I have had none of this at all.

SO FRUSTRATING. What should I do? Please read ENTIRE question. =*(?

Loving Life! asked:

Please read the whole question or just don’t answer. Thanks for your time!

My husband and I bought our first home in Feb. 2009. The house was built in 1989. All the kitchen appliances are brand new, but things like the heat pump are original. We decided to buy a home appliance warranty because some of the appliances are older. We thought it was a smart move….

Wrong. The dishwasher is three months old. It stopped working (not draining) two weeks ago. We emptied all the water with a turkey baster and bucket, then washed it out. We called the man we bought the house from (who is also president of the HOA) and asked if there was a Kenmore warranty on the dishwasher. He was very nice, said there IS a warranty, and told us to give him a day or two to find it and drop it off at our house. We were so glad that he was being so generous about it. Well, two days went by, then a week, and now two weeks. We have left him 6 voicemails (none mean or threatening, just urgent) and sent him two text messages (like, “Hey Tom, have you had a chance to get the warranty paperwork together yet?”). Well, yesterday afternoon we called him and got “The number you have dialed is no longer in service.” Great. He changed numbers.

We decided just to go ahead with the home warranty that we had purchased at closing. Well, they sent someone out the next day (today) and he was a complete A$$. Rude, treated me like garbage, acted like I was stupid, etc. He charged $85 just to come to my house, turn on my dishwasher for 30 seconds and say, “Yep. Sounds broken.” I’m not even kidding. Then he went outside to talk on his phone for 40 minutes (I guess he was charging by the hour and needed to waste time somehow). He came back inside and told me that he called the home warranty company and told them we had misused the dishwasher (NOT TRUE) and that my husband had torn the dishwasher apart trying to fix it himself (ALSO NOT TRUE. My husband didn’t touch it. He didn’t even lift the drain filter or anything). He said it would cost us an additional $200 for him to take it apart plus whatever parts and labor are involved. So $285+. For goodness sake, I could buy a brand new dishwasher for that amount. And he didn’t even look at it! He made an assumption based on 30 seconds of noise he heard when he turned it on. I told him I needed to call my husband, so I stepped into the living room for about three (3) minutes and couldn’t get ahold of him. The repair man came in and said, “Lady, You’re wasting my time. I have other places to be. I will be leaving in 5 minutes and I expect my check to be ready.”

I was like WTH?! So I said, “Sit your ass down. I’m not paying you $85 to be a jerk. You can leave when I get in touch with my husband.” And I just completely went off on this man. So then I wrote him a check (to Accurate Appliance Service) and he goes, “That’s accurate “A-C-C-…” and spelled it out for me! I was like, “Dude, I went to college and I’m sure I’m better educated than you. I know how to spell. Do not insult me any more.”

I called his company to speak to a supervisor and sure enough, it was forwarded straight to his voicemail. Called the warranty company and they pretty much told me I had been swindled. Well, THEY chose the repair man and made the appointment. THEY told me ahead of time it would be $85 to fix it. The way I see it, it is not my problem, it’s theirs. He didn’t even leave a receipt or a copy of his report. The warranty people won’t help us.

What should I do????

Decent experience from ApplianceZone.com

After seeing the complaints I found on other sites, I had feelings about ordering from ApplianceZone.com. Fortunately, practicality kicked in and I convinced myself that for any vocal upset customer, you don’t see the multitude of silent satisfied ones. I am to say that my dealings with ApplianceZone proved that I was right - I got positive service, specific items at half the price of Sears and very quickly delivery.

A few tips to keep in mind before sending in your order. 1) Be certain that you have the right part numbers. Check a few similar websites that sell the parts you need and be sure they all list the same part information for your model appliance. 2) Prior to paying for expedited shipping, check with ApplianceZone to attest that they have all the parts for your needs in stock.

We rent a space for our restaurant that has water seep through walls when it rains hard. Do we have rights?

Rasberrys asked:

Our landlord wants us to arrange the needed services, and close without compensation during the repairs. The landlord also wants us to disassemble and move appliances at our expense to perform the repairs. There is carpet damaged as well, the landlord wants us to either paint or re-carpet the floor at our expense (they agreed to remove the damaged carpet which is in common area.) We have 1.5 years left in the lease. Do we have any rights here? What should we do?

anyone use Lowe’s/Home Depot for kitchen installation?

annie41378 asked:

hubby and i will be inheriting a house from grandma and, well, it’s stuck in 1953. everything is original to the house, including the appliances, rugs, etc. since we will be lucky enough to not worry about rehab costs on top of a mortgage, we will be able to spend a decent amount of money on the house. however, it will also require dormers being added to the attic, and all that fun stuff.

i figure we will spend about 20k-25K on a kitchen, not including demo. is that a reasonable price to get a kitchen at lowes/home depot? we want wood cabinets, stone tile floors and natural stone counters. the kitchen is a moderate size, and a dining room table will have to fit, so we won’t be doing an island. just your typical L-shape.

have you bought from lowes/home depot and had them install? how did you feel about the materials and the service?

is this a reasonable budget? it would also include appliances of a low to mid-range price. is that too much money budgeted?

thanks!

What to do, I missed my home HVAC Maintenance day

Bookmark this category

Am I about to make my light bill go up? (I pay utilities.)

I live in an tenement with one HVAC heat pump unit. I was gone that one single day that they do the annual stuff for the year. I’m pretty certain it has not seen service for a few years.

And what do the maintenance people do exactly?

I know my landlord won’t do this again awaiting at least next year and I now don’t have any money to pay a service guy.

My service company does Heating Service Short Pump.
